Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Lee Terrell, doing business as Forklift Tech Jobs ("we") collects when you use Forklift Tech Jobs (forklifttechjobs.com), how we use it, and your choices. We aim to collect as little as we need.

What we collect

• Job seekers browsing the Site: we do not require an account. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard request data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested to deliver the Site and protect it from abuse.
• Job alert signups: your email address and, if you choose, a keyword or state preference. We also store a random unsubscribe token and the date you signed up.
• Employers posting jobs: company name, contact email, company website (optional), and everything you put in the listing (title, description, location, pay, apply link or email). The contact email is not shown publicly. The apply link or apply email you provide is shown publicly.
• Payment information: payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We receive and store a payment reference, the amount, and whether the payment succeeded.
• Contact, takedown, and claim forms: your name (optional), email, listing reference, and message.
• Anti-spam data: to limit abuse we keep a one-way hash of your IP address and a counter for a short time (typically under 24 hours). We cannot recover your IP address from it.

Cookies and analytics

The Site does not use advertising cookies and does not sell or share your data for advertising. We measure how the Site is used in up to three ways:

• Our own anonymous event log. A small script records things like the pages you view, searches you run on the Site (keywords, location, filters, number of results), which job pages you open, whether you click Apply, Save or Share, how far you scroll, roughly how long you stay (in buckets), the page that sent you here (referrer site and any utm_ campaign tags), and a device class (mobile, tablet or desktop) with your screen width. Events are tied to a random session ID kept in your browser's session storage, which disappears when you close the tab or browser and is not a cookie. We store your country (from Cloudflare) but not your IP address, user agent, name or email, and we drop any search text that looks like an email address. We use this to see which jobs get attention, what people search for, and to show employers how their listing performed. We keep these events up to about 13 months.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics (if enabled) measures page views and performance without cookies and without tracking individuals across sites.
• Google Analytics 4 (only if enabled; ask us whether it is currently on). It sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) to count visitors and sends the events above to Google, which receives your IP address and browser details under Google's own privacy policy. We turn off IP storage, advertising features and ad personalization signals, and Consent Mode defaults deny advertising storage. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, analytics storage stays denied unless you consent.

Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked before Google Analytics cookies load: it stays off unless you click Accept, and you can change your choice with the Cookie settings link in the footer.

How to opt out. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, the Site turns off Google Analytics and our own event log for you: the scripts do nothing, and the server ignores events it receives. You can also block the scripts with a content blocker, or email us through the contact page on this site (email address coming soon) and we will delete events we can tie to you.

If Cloudflare Turnstile (a CAPTCHA alternative) is enabled on forms, Cloudflare may process technical signals to tell humans from bots. The Site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser requests font files from Google, which receives your IP address and browser details under Google's own privacy policy. Stripe's checkout page, which is hosted by Stripe, sets its own cookies under Stripe's policy.

How we use information

• to run the Site, show listings, and review and publish employer posts;
• to process payments and refunds, send receipts, and respond to employers;
• to send job alerts you asked for (with an unsubscribe link in each);
• to answer your messages and handle removal or claim requests;
• to prevent spam and fraud, keep the Site secure, and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Who we share it with

• Service providers that help us run the Site: Cloudflare (hosting, database, optional analytics and Turnstile), Google (optional Google Analytics and Fonts), Stripe (payments), and an email provider if and when we start sending email.
• The public, for what you publish in a listing (including the apply link or email).
• Authorities or other parties if required by law, or to protect rights, safety, or the Site.
• A successor, if we merge or sell the business.

How long we keep it

• Job alert emails: until you unsubscribe (we then keep a record that you opted out so we do not email you again).
• Employer listings and contact details: while the listing is live and afterward as needed for business, tax, and legal reasons.
• Payment and accounting records: as long as tax and accounting rules require (often up to seven years).
• Contact messages: generally up to two years.
• Anonymous analytics events: up to about 13 months.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from alerts with the link in any alert email. You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to remove a listing, by emailing us through the contact page on this site (email address coming soon). Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have additional rights, and we will honor them as the law requires. We may need to verify your identity first, and we may keep information we are legally required to keep.

Security

We use reputable providers and encryption in transit (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Site is for adults seeking work and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above. For significant changes we will make reasonable efforts to tell you.
